Thank you for visiting Blue Boy Furniture, I’m Tracy, the furniture painter behind Blue Boy.

 

Based in Buckinghamshire, I have been painting furniture and crafting home decor items since I purchased my first house in the 90s! Unable to furnish my new home, I turned to second hand furniture markets and auction houses. Inspired by the upcycle tv programs of the time (think BBC Changing Rooms if you remember it!), I began painting and refurbishing the quality vintage furniture finds for my new home. 

 

A passion to create, some incredible sadness and suffering from PTSD, and the desire to be more sustainable and prevent furniture being added to our growing landfill, combined together and Blue Boy Furniture was launched in 2019.

 

Under Blue Boy Furniture I am able to:

 

• Provide a painting service to my clients, working with my clients to design and create a beautifully refurbished piece of furniture for their home. This can be from a piece they already own or I can source furniture too.

• Produce painted, decoupaged and foiled furniture and home decor items which I sell on my website, through Etsy and also at my booth within the craft shop The Galleria at Chalfont St Giles.

• Retail fabulous upcycle products, all of which I personally use and can therefore offer product advice about. Think amazing metallic foils, gorgeous decoupage papers, mineral paints, waxes, pigments and lots more. Check out the products “Tracy’s favourite” for products that are a must have in my painting box. 

​

• Offer workshops and online courses to teach others how to be sustainable and refurbish their furniture rather than buy new.
