HOMESTEAD HOUSE MILK PAINT SOLSTICE BLUE
Solstice Blue is a soft pale blue grey reminiscent of a early sunset on a cold winters day
Homestead House Milk paint is an easy to use eco friendly, biodegradable paint consisting of 5 ingredients: lime, chalk, clay, casein (milk protein) and pigments. The milk protein acts as a binding agent for the pigment particles, and creates a smooth texture with a low flat sheen.
Use Milk Paint on furniture, walls, or wood surfaces; it performs best on raw wood, plaster and drywalls which it can penetrate and adhere to.
Using over a previously painted unsanded surface will give a chippy finish, creating a worn authentic look.
To achieve the chippy look on new or prepped wood, add a little wax, hemp oil or beeswax block to areas of the project where you would like the paint to chip.
To prevent chipping, clean well with TSP, scuff sand and apply a some fusion ultra grip to the first coat of milk paint.
Always seal furniture with a topcoat of either hemp oil, wax, tough coat (light colours only) or stain and finishing oil.
When using on walls there is no need to seal.

- For a wash - add 1 part powder to 3 parts water
- For a crackled effect - make the paint thicker and add more powder than the 1:1 paint formula above.
