Description

The Pentart Crackle system is a 2 part water based crackle varnish which creates very fineline cracks, like the ones on old porcelain.

 

HOW TO USE:

1.Apply part 1 in an even layer and wait 2-3 hours for it to dry completely.

2. Spread part 2 over the top of the layer of part 1.

The depth and the network of the cracks depends on the thickness of the layer and on the technique of the application. The layer will dry transparent but not waterproof.

To activate more of a crackle, a hot hair dryer or heat gun blown on the surface may help.

3. Highlight the cracks with Antique Paste or Liquid Patina

4. We recommend waiting at least 24 hours before sealing with SOLVENT-based varnish. 
NB DO NOT PROTECT with waterbased varnishes as these may affect the finished results
